Donald L. Pipkin, CISSP, CISM, CISA
is an information security architect with over twenty years of experience in the
industry. He is an internationally renowned security expert and a frequent speaker on security. He is the author of
Halting the Hacker: A Practical Guide to Computer Security, and
Information Security: Protecting the Global Enterprise, as well as numerous articles on information security.
As a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and a Certified Information Security Manager,
he is versed in all aspects of security, including policy and procedures, and has hands-on experience
with computer intrusions. He makes
presentations on security at various conferences from a regional to
an international level. His years of experience have allowed him to bring his understanding of security
issues and his experiences with computer crime to bear when consulting with
companies of all sizes on issues of policies and procedures that address specific security issues.
He helps businesses look at the bigger security picture, beyond the computer center.
For most of his career, Don has been employed by Hewlett-Packard where he has designed secure
systems architectures for customers, guided the development of security courses
and the certification program, performed system security evaluations,
integrated security tools into enterprise management systems, and provided direction and input to
numerous security product development groups.
Don earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Tulsa's College of Engineering. He is a regular
guest lecturer at the University of Tulsa and Rogers State University,
where he is on the Academic Advisory Council.
